Banks in Zimbabwe have introduced various applications as a way of digitalising banking services and to decongest banking halls. However the uptake of the product has not been satisfactory and this is partly because some of the clients do not have the gadgets to access the applications or in other instances the cost of data is prohibitively high. CBZ Bank has introduced Self Service centres in branches as part of continued efforts to digitalise banking services as well as bring convenience to clients. Self Service Centres will allow customers the freedom to perform transactions without the assistance of branch staff.

The self service Centres were introduced as a way of enhancing convenience to the clients and the major objectives of the initiative is to allow clients to transact in a cost effective manner without seeking the service of any bank personnel and to promote a culture of digital banking thus allowing clients to familiarise themselves with the various digital channels offered by CBZ Bank.

The Self Service Centres consist of several tablet devices that are affixed on desks in designated Self Service Booths. Customers will be able to sit at the Self Service Desks to use the Tablets in order to perform their transactions and access service on the following platforms:

  • CBZ Touch
  • CBZ Internet Banking
  • CBZ Website

Customers are able to log on to any of the above mentioned platforms to perform the following transactions:

  • Signing up for CBZ Touch
  • Balance Enquiries
  • Transfer to CBZ Account
  • RTGS transfers
  • ZIPIT transfers
  • School Fees payments
  • Tertiary Fees payments
  • DSTV Payments
  • ZETDC (ZESA) Token Purchases
  • Airtime Purchases
  • Utilities Payments

The service is currently offered through a few selected branches and the service will be rolled out to all CBZ Bank branches on a phased bases.
